If you go to Stephenie's website (stepheniemeyer.com) you can go to the outake page and read a section about Bella throwing a box of money. I don't recall a rock. But in the published books none of this happens.

bella gets scholarship money and she returns the money; in returning the money, Bella accidentally brakes the window to their house.
