What do christians learn from the house on a rock story?

You know the 'he built his house on a rock' story? well i need to find out what christians learn from it. the story is where two men build houses. one builds it quickly on the sand but the other builds it on a rock and puts hard work in to it. i guess they learn that if you want a good result do things the harder way???What do christians learn from the house on a rock story?
actually the rock is Christ. This parable means you must build your life, heart, and soul, and every fiber of your being on the foundations of the Christ. We are the house, Christ is the rock. We might think our 'house' on the sand without Christ is good and solid, until it collapses. There is no solid foundation without Christ-the rock.What do christians learn from the house on a rock story?
The temple in Jeruselem was built on a literal rock, the Muslim Mosque is now the dome of the rock (built on the literal rock).

Christ named Peter the rock on which he would build his church, and the gates of Hades would NEVER PREVAIL against it. The spiritual rock with a firm foundation is Jesus%26gt;Peter%26gt;Catholic Church.

The Vatican is over Peter's burial spot.

Other churches, which spawned 500 years ago (not 2000 years ago) have the foundation made of sand.
that's not right at all....The wise man built his house on a rock. It is something sturdy and dependable and it will always be there. (God)...the unwise man built his house on sand. Somthing that is constantly washing away and will not be there forever. (society, worldly things)...so, you should depend on God and not society and the world.
The Rock is Jesus Christ - He is the firm foundation of our faith.

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus鈥?blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus鈥?name.

When darkness veils His lovely face,

I rest on His unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood

Support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,

Oh, may I then in Him be found;

Dressed in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain:

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.
The Rock is the truth and will stand forever, Peter was chosen by Christ as the rock on which he would build his church, this is still standing.

Sand is building on a false premise, that will not stand but totter and sway in the wind, like so many break away fractions
It is one of the hidden secrets to success for the Church(us christians)

And to be accurate, its not just any rock. Matthew 7:24 says ';.. is like a wise man who builds his house upon THE rock.';

Which rock is it exactly?

1 Corinthians 10:4 and Psalms 18:2 both typify Jesus as OUR Rock,

while ';house'; refers to our body/church/way of life/families/property according to many Bible scholars today.

Therefore, it is very encouraging to know that when we build our lives/ families/ health/ finances upon JESUS the solid Rock, no matter what the storms of recession and doom and gloom may say, we will stand firm, when everything else is like sinking sand.

Thank you for this question!
Its not at all about how its built but where its built. Who's your foundation? What are you basing your life upon?

Anything but CHRIST and your life is as good as it gets.

Joh 14:6 ';I am the way, the truth, and the life!'; Jesus answered. ';Without me, no one can go to the Father.
you build your life on a sure foundation....faith in Jesus. then when the storms of life come against you, you are able to stand strong in the knowlege that come what may, it is well!
That you should base your life on something firm. Ex. Don't base happiness on material things because they could be gone in only a moment.
Jesus is the proper foundation to build your house..
Build on a Solid Foundation.

The House being Christ.
Build your life on Christ's Word...the only firm foundation.
