If you broke someone's house window on accident with a lawnmower hitting a rock into it:?

And you, just because it's the right thing to do, asked them for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace it or to buy a new one. They give you an estimate-you give them the check for the amount, but they never get the window replaced. In one way I'm thinking it's wrong because the money should had went toward the window replacement but another way I'm thinking it shouldn't matter since I broke the window. I don't know, what do you all think about it?If you broke someone's house window on accident with a lawnmower hitting a rock into it:?
You did the right thing, so leave it there. The fact is you broke it and payed for it, they might not have the money to fix it and needed it for food . But you did what needed to be done for the damage. If you broke someone's house window on accident with a lawnmower hitting a rock into it:?
no their not wrong, you damaged their property and were responsible enough to address it. You made them ';Whole'; for the damage. If they are renters that would be diff... Do you think you paid too much? its too late for that anyway. For examble if your car gets damaged .Your car ins. will give a check to make you ';whole'; but you dont have to fix the car. you can just cash the check and do whatever with it. in this case you both are right. and no, you are not getting screwed. now let it go into the vapor. and have a nice evening , your a good person. PS. this has nothing to do with their karma. jeeze people ! its a broken window and she broke it and paid them for it. sounds like the people above would have hid behind bushes
I see your point, but on the other hand, Just because you did the right thing, doesnt mean you can expect the other person to respond the way you would like, or even expect.

Maybe they desperately needed the money for someone else? Maybe they want to replace them all in the spring. Who knows?

What second hand lion said is true - karma has a way of getting around. Ya never know - maybe your butt is covered for something in the future.
well that you paid for it is amazing. I woulda just told'em to call their insurance company. But there is no rule that says they have to use the money for that or that you have to pay them. Just remember this as you go through life. ';No good deed goes unpunished';.. sad but true
either way it works out. save the canceled check as proof that you paid it. they'll probably claim it on the insurance and collect double. i wouldn't have paid because i think it's an homeowners insurance issue.
You did right and paid for the damage that you did.

If they've got other troubles, and needed the money more

elsewhere, it's their business.

A lot of us are having money troubles about now.
i think your right
